Hello! I'm Joyce.

As a user experience designer, I create useful and usable experiences that align with both user needs and business goals. I believe research is essential to identify the right problems to solve (though it often requires a lean approach and building trust with partners and stakeholders) and an iterative design process of prototyping and testing supports successful collaboration and outcomes.

My path to UX began with visual design. As a user interface designer, I partnered with user experience colleagues, and the projects I enjoyed most enabled users to complete tasks easily and efficiently. This led me to enroll in the Human-Computer Interaction program at DePaul University and ultimately complete a graduate degree. I’m currently a User Experience Design Lead (VP) at J.P. Morgan Chase, working on enterprise applications in Payment Operations as part of the Digital Experience Design team.

A few words that describe me are curious, collaborative, empathetic, and organized. I live just outside Chicago and enjoy knitting and spending time outdoors, dabble in watercolor painting, read both fiction and non-fiction, and practice Aikido and Zen meditation.
